Part III - Your Credit Report

Speaking of your credit report, as you may remember, Part I of this article stated:

The dealership will obtain a copy of your credit report, which contains information about current and past credit obligations, your payment record and data from public records (for example, a bankruptcy filing obtained from court documents).

We also stated that your credit history, current finance rates, competition, market conditions and special offers are among the factors that influence your APR.

As you can see, maintaining a clean credit report will go a long way towards assuring that your auto loan application will be approved.

You should periodically obtain a copy of your credit report and make sure that the report does not contain any erroneously reported information.
